Maverick brewery, BrewDog has today unveiled its first craft beer bar in the north of England. BrewDog Newcastle is the sixth bar to be opened by the Scottish brewery, selling artisanal beers from around the world as well as BrewDog’s inimitable range, which includes the country’s strongest ale, a 41% IPA calledSink the Bismarck!

• A brass band dressed as penguins will be playing in the city centre to mark the opening, as an homage to BrewDog’s infamous ale, Tactical Nuclear Penguin
• The bar is located at 16, Dean Street, Newcastle
• Entertainment includes vintage pinball machines and nostalgic boardgames
• 14 draught beer taps have been installed, offering a range of BrewDog beers and guest ales from around the world
• The bar will officially open to the public at 4.00pm on Friday 13th April
• BrewDog Newcastle has a capacity of 140
• Cheese and meat plates will be available, along with locally sourced scotch eggs and pork pies
• BrewDog Manchester is set to launch next month on Peter Street in the Northern Quarter of the city
• Further cities earmarked for bar opening include Leeds, Birmingham and Sheffield
